Mood Match: Discover the Perfect Dhikr for Every Feeling

Salaam is your go-to app to maintain that balance in your day-to-day life, and our latest feature is created with this at the core. We’re happy to introduce a new feature in our mood tracker, which provides not only an identification of the emotions but also helps you get closer to your spiritual health by showing specific tasbih and meditation practices for each emotion so that it walks you through this process!

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized the importance of tasbih, stating that reciting these phrases can fill one’s scales of good deeds and bring immense rewards. For instance, saying “Alhamdulillah” (All praise is due to Allah) after every prayer is highly encouraged and serves as a reminder of gratitude for Allah’s countless blessings.

Emotions such as happiness, stress, anger, or gratitude influence your well-being. This is why we have developed the following logic—so that in monitoring your mood, an appropriate dhikr or phrase can be offered, enabling you to reshape and reinforce this alignment.

How it works:

  • Feeling Happy? 😁 You have the right dhikr for your mood this time, “Allahu Akbar” (الله أكبر), Allah is Greatest. What an amazing way to express happiness, and acknowledge the support of Allah during occasions of joy.
  • Feeling Grateful? 😌 You will be prompted to say, “Alhamdulillah” (الحمد لله), which translates into “All praise is for Allah.” It is a reminder to stop and be grateful for what you have in your life.
  • Feeling Tired or Starting Something New? 🥱 You will read “Bismillah” (بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ)—’In the name of Allah’—to direct your task towards purpose and success by His grace.
  • Feeling Angry? 😡 You will be reminded with “La Hawla wa la quwwata illa billah” (لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوةٌ إِلاّ بالله), which means “There is no power nor strength except through Allah.” This will help you let go of your anger and cultivate patience.
  • Feeling Sad? 😔 Recite the dhikr “HasbunAllah” (حَسْبُنَا ٱللَّٰهُ): It is narrated by al-Bukhari: The Prophet Ibrahim said upon being thrown into the fire, ‘Hasbuna-llahu wa ni’ma l-Wakeel’ which means “Allah (Alone) is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs.”
  • Feeling Stressed or Anxious? 😖 A prayer: “La Hawla wa la quwwata illa billah”—there is no power or strength except with Allah, to help release the stress and know that power belongs only to God.

This program is not just about identifying how you feel, but it helps nurture the soul. Whenever you use the mood tracker, you will be creating a powerful link between your spiritual and mental health. We believe this feature is an elegant tool for cultivating mindfulness and spirituality. No matter where you are, high or low in spirit, Salaam is here to guide you with the right spiritual tools to uplift yourself and strengthen your iman. 😁😌
